This past weekend’s event at Montgomery Academy was more than just the start of our season, it was a strong showing for our chess community. Sixty-two players filled the tournament hall, creating a lively atmosphere with quiet focus at the boards, parents capturing proud moments, and students representing their schools with enthusiasm.

We’re grateful to Montgomery Academy and Frances Smith for providing such a welcoming venue and for their continued support of youth chess. Their hospitality helped set the stage for a smooth and memorable tournament.
